This is was I made from the "ugly" FQ for Mel.
Her daughter just went wild, so I'll be making another one for her...with lots of glitter...LOL!
This will be a place where I will share what I do with fiber scraps & other found objects, & turn them into fiber art postcards. It is also a companion blog to my Yahoo postcard group. I hope you enjoy the pics!

Mel's ugly FQ for Swan Swap
This is what Mel sent to me.
I saw many possibilities for this card. Also, I didn't think it was "ugly" at all, which made the challenge harder!

Swan swap from Mel
Mel did a great job turning my "ugly" into a "swan". She cut out the triangles, & made them into a vase....how clever. She filled the vase with applique flowers, embellished with butterflies. It also has a layer of tulle, & the edges are glitter yarn. Just beautiful!

"The Swan Swap"
We had a challenge on our postcard group. Everyone would pick out an "ugly" FQ, & send it to their partner. The partner would take the ugly, & turn it into a "swan", & send it back. You were allowed to add something from your own stash to transform the "ugly."
This is the FQ that I sent to Mel, for transformation. Looks hard, right?
