Postcard for Mel's Birthday

I just finished my newest postcard creation. It's called Red Hat Birthday. Mel's B/D is this month, & she's a red-hatter. She's a member of my postcard group, so it's for the group swap.
This is also my entry for the Fast Friday Fabric Challenge Group...so it's a 2fer. This month's challenge was to use materials that you had never worked with before, & create an art piece. Since I'm such a newbie, & that list is way long...I decided to sew on beads (instead of gluing) & add fun fur to the edge. I've never couched fiber, or sewn beads, so I met the challenge...now to practice. At least I'm over being afraid to try it now. Hope she likes her card!

Valentine Postcard Swap

More for my collection! I haven't figured out how to load the pic, write about it, & load another pic, so the top card was made by Mel, the 2nd by Sharon, & the 3rd by Kathyoz.

They are all so wonderful!

Valentine swap from DJ

This card was made by DJ. Look at all the detail...just gorgeous!

Lucky Charms Postcard Swap

For the month of March, our postcard group did a postcard lotto. We were to pick a theme based on something that had brought us luck, in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

The postcard, "Motherhood" was my entry. This is a whole-cloth postcard, with machine stiching embellishments, handwork with floss, & other fibers, & paints to bring out the details.

The winner of the "lotto" was Lynne. I hope she enjoys this card, as it has very personal meaning to me.

Valentine Postcard from Barb

This card was sent to me from Barb C., for our group swap. I love the way she grouped the hearts. They are machine appliqued with a blind stitch, & they have hot-fix crystals on them. Don't you just love the fun fur on the edges?

Valentine Postcard from Agnes

I received this on our group postcard swap from Aggie. She lives in France. It is made from cardstock. My middle daughter is in her second year of French, so she had to translate part of the card for me. Isn't it great?

Postcard Swap Spring 2007

Welcome Spring!
Well spring isn't here just yet, but it was the theme for a postcard swap that a member of the stashbuster list just hosted. This card was made by Lynne, who is also a member of my postcard group. Don't you just love these dafodils? She put some glitter on some of the centers, but the pic doesn't show it well. Thanks again Lynne!

Another Birthday Postcard

Here is another quilted postcard that I received for my birthday!
This one is from Lynne. She is another member of my postcard group. Isn't my "SPRING Pig" so cute??? Now how are they finding out about my pig collection? Someone must be spilling the beans......I just love him! Thanks again Lynne!

Birthday Postcards

Another Birthday!
Just when I thought I'd be depressed about turning another year OLDER, I open these wonderful quilted postcards from my group. These ladies are getting so good at making me smile, & aren't these the cutest cards?

On another note, I'm falling way behind on all of my projects, postings, e-mails, due to some changes at work, so please be patient if you are trying to contact me.
Love to all from the birthday girl!

Valentines Day

This is a valentine postcard for one of my postcard swaps. I made a series of frogs. I think this one is 8/8. Isn't the frog so cute? I need to gather up all of the cards that I received from the swap & take a pic to post. They were all so different & very nice!
Now to make some ATC's for valentines day.....

January Mystery Postcard

This is the quilted postcard I made for the groups Jan. Mystery game. I was given the theme of "stained glass windows", & it was my 1st attempt at using thin fusible bias tape. What a pain BTW!

It feels good to give back to your community!

Happy New Year 2007

Hope everyone had a great holiday season!

Now is the time to start thinking about the NEW YEAR!

What are your plans for 2007???
Spread your wings!

Postcard for Frenzy sister

This card was won by Susie, a member on the Frenzy Sister Group. She likes butterflies, and the colors of lilac, purple, teal,& green. Sorry...no teal, but I think my choices will be okay.

Snowy Man Postcard

Here is card #6 for my postcard group swap. Barb collects snowmen, so this theme is perfect!

"Lighting of the Tree" X-mas postcard

This is the next postcard that I have made. Actually, there is a story behind this card. The person that will receive this card was blogging about how they had bought this huge, pre-strung tree, that weighed a ton. When they finally managed to put it together, & set in place, they went to plug it in & the lights didn't work. Well if that is not a perfect idea for her card...hope she doesn't get too mad at me!

Cosmic Color Christmas Postcard

Postcard #4 is done. This is for a gal on my postcard group, who said her cosmic color is purple. The purples are hand dyes. The trees are an experiment in fabric stamping. I used dk green, lt. green, & olive green with gold shimmers. The negative space is stamped with my holiday greeting. I think she will like this very much, now off to the post office it goes....bye!

All I want for X-mas is a Texas Cowboy Postcar

This is my latest postcard for my group swap. She wanted a "real" Cowboy from Texas, but this was the best thing I could do. A real one would have to take His pick-up & I'm sure his horse, & since it's going overseas...I wouldn't be able to afford the shipping!!!

ATC Winter Swap 2006

These are the cards I made for my 1st group swap!

FS2R Xmas postcard#2

This is the 2nd card that I completed for my group x-mas card swap. I really like this one. Hope the friend that receives this 1 will love it too! My techniques are improving......
